Benedict XVI Catholic Institue of Higher Education launched the School of Education recently amidst a large gathering of Principals, Vice Principals of Private Catholic schools of Western Province and government schools, teachers, students, parents and well-wishers. Most Rev. Dr Maxwell G. Silva, the Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo was the Chief Guest at the occasion.  BCI School of Education will offer opportunities to pre-service and in-service teachers to acquire UGC-recognized qualifications in order to become professional educators. BCI School of Education will initially run the Degrees –Bachelor of Education Honours in Primary Education, Bachelor of Education Honours in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education Honours in Teaching English as a Second Language, Bachelor of Science Honours in Counselling Psychology and Psychosocial Support.
